New CAA product offers BAR and DOI regs for members

What the California Autobody Association (CAA) refers to as “an extremely valuable benefit tool that shops should read and utilize” – Collision Industry Guide – is now available to members of the association.

This new version has been separated into two parts, with the first part dealing with Bureau of Automotive Repair (BAR) Regulation Guidelines and part two addressing Department of Insurance (DOI) Regulation Guidelines.

Both of these sections deal with the most common California issues, laws, and regulations that auto body repair shops are facing everyday with consumers, regulatory agencies, and the insurance industry. Most of these questions have been called in to the CAA members.

The Collision Industry Guide, Part One, that deals with the BAR regulations is especially beneficial to CAA members. Many of these situations are ones that shops take for granted that they are in compliance. Some shops have been doing it a certain way for so long, it must be right. It is particularly important that this section be available to be read by all employees.

The DOI Regulation Guidelines are outlined in an easy to understand format by using questions that address specific insurance regulations that explain the issue. Some of these refer to the exact insurance code regulation, which can easily be accessed on the internet for a complete version.

These guides will be regularly updated as new laws and regulations are revised.
