The shop at LGE has state-of-the-art equipment to ensure its reputation for excellence—Blowtherm Cross draft spray booth, downdraft spray booth, Hook frame racks, Chart frame rack and an alignment. LGE has made the transition to waterborne paint using PPG computerized refinishing and Envirobase High Performance waterborne basecoat. According to Theresa, the transition went very smoothly. “We assure quality materials and workmanship. Our technicians are certified and professionally trained to get the job done right. We are one of the most modern and best equipped shops in Southern California.” And LGE’s commitment doesn’t end when the customer leaves the shop. They stand behind the quality and durability of every paint job with a limited lifetime warranty.
Well-known in custom industry L&G Enterprises and the Custom Truck Shop are very well known in the industry for their custom work. Celebrity clients, including Jim Carey, Tea Leoni, and David Duchoveny, have all used LGE’s custom design services. LGE vehicles have appeared on a wide variety of magazine covers over the years—Truckin’ magazine, Street Trucks magazine, OFF ROAD magazine, Four wheeler magazine, 4x4 magazine and Specialty Automotive magazine. LGE has produced a wide variety of custom vehicles for the yearly SEMA show—a GMC Sierra and a Chevy Silverado, with boats in tow to match their paint scheme. These two rigs were a big hit at the SEMA show, where they received a prominent spot right outside of the Overhaulin’ tent. In a show of versatility, LGE produced a 1964 Lincoln Continental with gleaming silver and charcoal gray two toned paint. Other exciting projects include a Jeep JK, a Nissan Titan, Mazda CX9, and a Hyundai Veracruz. Photos can be found at www.LGE-paint.com.
Competitive edge
|
“Our competitive advantage would definitely be our specialties,” stated Theresa. “Whenever another body shop gets a vehicle that is modified in some way, they automatically send it our way. It’s what we specialize in. We can create a completely customized vehicle here at our shop, and we can also repair a completely customized vehicle—which not many shops can do. We use both the truck shop and the body shop to help us market both shops better, and that really is our edge.” Customer service and exciting ambiance further enhance that competitive edge. “When people walk into our shop they are greeted with a trendy rock station and a young group of employees who are eager to help them. We are not suit and tie type of people. We enjoy the whole car culture. We embrace it and allow that to show. People need to know that we love working on cars and we are going to give their car in particular the utmost attention that it deserves. We get many return customers and what’s funny, is they all tell us they love coming here (even though it might be under unfortunate circumstances)” she explained.
Planning for the future “We are always looking at new ways to improve our shop. Our next venture will be to combine both of our shops into one large location—the dream shop. We will be able to have both sides of the business incorporated into one large one-stop shop Although we advertise and tell people about both of our shops, there are still occasional customers who didn’t know about the other shop and vice versa,” she continued. “While we have been looking at different locations, we really want to stay close to the community that we are in now. After all, this is where it all started for us and it is a great community to be in. We have come to know and love this community and wish to continue to grow with it.”
