Replica Plastics reaches 550 GM parts E-mail
Thursday, 05 April 2007
Replica Plastics recently celebrated a company milestone, the manufacture of the mold for the 550th part to fit General Motors cars.  Replica has been in business for 17 years, and started business with the manufacture of a single part-the rear quarter panel on older Cadillacs. The company’s offerings have since expanded to include 550 different parts for GM cars, including the front and rear fillers, body extensions and panels for Buick, Cadillac, Chevrolet, Pontiac and Oldsmobile.
Replica Plastics recently added the front valance assembly for the 1974 - 1977 Camaro, parade boots for GM and parts for Chrysler/Dodge Cordoba and Mirada. A 90-day inventory is kept on hand. With in–house craftsmen, Replica makes molds from old parts and can replicate right or left side from either part.
The company said they specialize in the “hard-to-find” and they can make almost anything out of fiberglass. Past projects have included inside panels for helicopters, Mercedes kick-pads, battery trays, fenderskirts, Grand Am grille parts, and headliner T Tops.
