TYC Brother Industrial and DEPO Auto Parts Ind. Co. Ltd. - the two independent replacement lamp assembly part manufacturers participating in the Manufacturers Qualification and Validation Program (MQVP®) - have recently submitted new products into the program.
Lighting assemblies submitted are 2003-2004 make/model/year applications for select Dodge, Ford, Chevrolet, Chrysler, Nissan and Toyota vehicles. "Lighting assemblies are continually in demand by the collision repair industry and our manufacturers are constantly reviewing their product offerings to bring the most sought after parts to market. We are excited to add these lighting products to our program and are pleased to be associated with such conscientious, forward-looking manufacturers," said Neil Stolman, operations manager for MQVP Inc. In addition to the above-referenced new applications, four headlamp applications that had been temporarily withdrawn by TYC have been resubmitted for approval and are now back in the program and available as MQVP traceable product. The four headlamp applications are as follows: 1996-99 Ford Taurus, 2000-04 Ford Taurus, 1999-05 Pontiac Grand Am, and 2000-01 Toyota Camry. Retested and resubmitted These lamps had been withdrawn by TYC due to insurer concerns stemming from reports which challenged the quality and performance of these specific lamp assemblies. In order to alleviate those fears and reassure their insurance customer, TYC took the initiative by retesting all the lamps with a U.S. third-party testing laboratory, used extensively by the DOT, and completing the necessary and rigorous AfterMarket Part Approval Process (AMPAP®) for each application in order to resubmit the parts to MQVP. "The independent laboratory test result matches what we had originally expected, in that our lamps would perform comparable to its OE counterparts. The testing confirmed that our products meet all requirements, even within the most stringent laboratory environment," says Jackson Kwok, vice president of Business Development, TYC/Genera Corporation.. Radiators now certified 1-800-Radiator, an independent distributor of OE quality heat exchangers, is now participating in MQVP, according to Director of Collision Repair Julian Hart. "This is a new part category for MQVP and we are very excited about the opportunity to offer our product and service to the MQVP participating insurance customer," added Hart. MQVP product, authenticated by the electronic quality warranty and traceability that comes through the distribution supply chain, gives the added quality assurance to the insurance customer. We feel this traceability give us an advantage in today's marketplace," added Hart. |
