Ford adds 61 parts to truckload program E-mail
Friday, 01 July 2005

Sixty-one new parts are now available through Ford Customer Service Division's (FCSD) Truckload Program including, for the first time ever, hoods, mirrors and grilles/header panels. With the additions, FCSD's Truckload Program now offers 250+ of the fastest-moving collision parts.

The FCSD Truckload Program offers Ford-Lincoln-Mercury parts wholesaling dealers - the exclusive distributors of genuine Ford replacement collision parts - additional discounts for bulk purchases of high-volume collision parts. The deeper discounts allow dealers to offer the parts at extremely competitive prices to insurance customers and collision repairers.

The new additions include 11 steel bumper, 5 bumper fascias, 20 lighting products, 6 aluminum wheels, 12 mirrors, 8 grilles/6 header panels and 3 hoods. List prices on the new bumper fascias have been reduced an average of 16.4%; on lighting products an average of 14.1%; on wheels an average of 11.2%; on mirrors an average of 10.6%; on grilles/header panels an average of 13.5%; and on hoods an average of 14.4%.

In addition, 27 older parts have been removed from the program.

"We're always looking to expand our product offerings so more dealers are able to effectively participate in the program," said George Gilbert Truckload Program manager for FCSD. "The addition of hoods, mirrors, grilles and header panels now means we're offering products in nine categories, which provides more flexibility for our dealers and greater value to insurers, repairers and vehicle owners."

The Truckload Program product additions are the latest in a series of actions by FCSD to help insurers and repairers deliver the highest-quality collision repairs to vehicle owners. Two other major initiatives announced this year by FCSD are:

• Launch of a "core" return program for all-new aluminum wheels to help prevent inappropriate reconditioning of damaged wheels.

• Creation of an airbag serial number reference website for use by the National Insurance Crime Bureau (NCIB) and insurers to validate passive restraint system repairs and to address the rising airbag theft problem.
