Chrysler Corp. announced it has installed a system using Aquabase Plus waterborne paint by PPG Industries’ (NYSE: PPG) automotive refinish business in its Auburn Hills, Mich., National Technical Training Center.

Making a change from using traditional solvent-based coatings is part of Chrysler’s commitment to using environmentally-responsible products and procedures. Herkules’ G202 Waterborne Paint Gun Washer automatically cleans spray gun equipment, with no need to purchase flocculant or filters, or spend time on a paint separating process.  The waterborne waste is hauled away after many wash cycles, similar to solvent paint waste. VOCs are still present in waterborne paint, so it is still important to dispose of properly.
