Company policy will be the use of OEM or recycled OEM parts," and "The concern being put forth is the possibility of compromising the integrity of the safety restraint system." ..."While we are not aware of any circumstances or problems with any of the noted parts, we have decided to revise our policy [until] additional analysis and study are completed."
Collision Week has reported that that Metlife is working with CCC Information Systems to update all its estimating data to reflect the new policy.
Metlife has now joined GEICO and Esurance, who previously announced nearly identical policies.
