Honda's lineup of small cars helped its United States sales climb to a record for the second consecutive month, but its major competitors reported significant declines in June, the worst month yet in a miserable year for the automobile industry.Sales were down 28 percent at the Ford Motor Company, 21 percent at Toyota and 18 percent at General Motors and Nissan ... hardest hit was Chrysler, whose sales fell 36 percent after it discontinued some models in a bid to increase profit margins.
