Back to the future

Hults then transitioned into more esoteric, futuristic, and unbelievable technological expectations. Currently the Audi A-8 has more than 60 on-board computers. Automobiles have infotainment centers, dual-stage front airbags, occupant classification head restraints, adaptive cruise control allowing the car to take over in a skid, pedestrian protection sensors and the list goes on.

An almost Believe It Or Not story, the Bose Corporation, known for their magnificent sound systems, has developed aftermarket suspension for automobiles. In an on-going 24-year research project, Dr. Bose conducted a mathematical study to determine the optimum possible performance of an automotive suspension, ignoring the limitations of any existing suspension hardware.

Bose Suspension System is controlled by a set of mathematical algorithms that operate by observing sensor measurements taken from around the car and sending commands to the power amplifiers installed in each corner of the vehicle. The ultimate goal is a smoother ride, eliminating the roll and pitch during driving.
