Akzo Nobel dedicated its tenth state-of-the-art instruction center in North America to the memory of Mike Gunder, a technical manager for Akzo Nobel, who had faithfully represented the company for 18 years until his untimely passing in 2005

The center located in Chicago, Illinois is a 4,000 sq. ft. facility that houses both classroom and simulated hands-on shop environments.

Designed by Akzo Nobel’s own Facility Design Specialists, the center is equipped with the most current application equipment. In anticipation of the growing movement toward waterborne technologies, all instruction locations have been specifically equipped with an array of application and training materials from the most respected manufacturers in the industry.

“This center embodies the quality and standards that Akzo Nobel represents on a daily basis in the North American market,” commented Jack Edgin, market manager for Akzo Nobel’s Central Market. “Our employees, our products and our services combine to make us exclusively unique. This building and the learning that will occur here is a tribute to all three.”
