The initiative is part of an award the association received from the U.S. Department of Commerce to help the automotive aftermarket industry increase its exports.
The program successfully connected suppliers at AAPEX with a select group of international buyers. The Auto Care Association matched the participants’ buying and product interests, and scheduled 60 one-on-one meetings from Oct. 31--Nov. 1 at the Sands Expo in Las Vegas.
“What a great opportunity and matchmaking event at AAPEX this year. I took a chance and it has paid off handsomely,” said Joseph De Santino, president, JDS Worldwide Corp, an Auto Care Association Member. “The company options, the scheduling and the quality of companies you brought were on point. Please count me in next year.”
In addition to the matchmaking program, the association organized successful trade missions to Colombia, Honduras and Nicaragua in 2017 as part of the federal award, and will be hosting a new trade mission to Costa Rica on May 21--22, 2018. Visit www.autocare.org/trade-missions to learn more about this opportunity. Other upcoming activities include technology conferences on the Auto Care Association’s technology standards.
