AASPI President Bob Gottfred noted, “We received good feedback about the meeting.”
Texas attorney Todd Tracy kicked off the meeting with his presentation on “The Anatomy of a Lawsuit: The Crucial Details of the $42 Million Verdict,” sharing details on the depositions, the trial and the information the jury used to decide upon the precedent-setting verdict.
AASPI Executive Director Mike Lane said, “State Senator Thomas Cullerton stopped by and was so impressed with Tracy’s talk that he volunteered to sponsor AASPI’s bill, HB4926, in the Illinois Senate.”
Next, Mike Anderson of Collision Advice presented “Get Certified? OEM Certification: The Pros and Cons.” Additionally, AASPI Chief Lobbyist Brian Wojcicki reviewed several pieces of legislation, including HB4926, which would require estimates to be written with OEM parts and to OEM repair specifications.
According to Lane, “It [is] our annual meeting where we bring in top-level presenters and update members on our legislative initiatives. It brings together a strong composite of our membership and is a visible sign of the strength of this organization.”
