In my last Hey Toby column (August 09), I mentioned that Greg Gunter of Greg’s Autobody (located in Whittier, CA and not to be confused with Greg’s Collision) had asked me to help him implement the lean concepts that he was introduced to in ICAR’s Cycle Time Improvement Class (CYC 01).

On July 1 Greg and I met with his staff to explain why the shop was going to embrace the lean concept. Greg and I did a walk through and he filled out two pages of notes on a legal pad detailing what needed to be cleaned and organized.
