Over 90 vendors, supporting all segments of the collision repair industry, will present the latest in collision repair equipment and supplies at an I-CAR-sponsored Southern California trade show in Los Angeles on June 29. Featuring trade show exhibits, speakers and a great dinner, the event will raise funds to provide local high school students with scholarships to attend community colleges that offer training in collision repair.
his is the only collision industry trade show scheduled for Southern California in 2004. The California Autobody Association held an annual trade show for many years, but last year the format changed to a membership convention with no trade show exhibitors. While many shops now plan on attending NACE in Las Vegas each fall, this regional trade show will feature many local distributors that don't have booths at NACE, giving shop owners and staff the chance to meet the jobbers and sales reps who will actually service their accounts. In addition to seeing the trade show exhibits, shop owners will have the opportunity to network with insurance claims professionals who have been invited to the show. "We could get 900 people at the show, from shop owners and technicians to insurance claims managers," stated I-CAR Los Angeles Committee Chairman Toby Chess, the event organizer. "You will enjoy this event, and you will be contributing to improving the collision repair industry through education and training." The trade show and dinner will be held June 29 at the LAX Airport Marriott, 5855 West Century Boulevard, Los Angeles (310-641-5700). The trade show opens at 4 p.m., with dinner served at 7 p.m. Free dinner, and no 'rubber chicken' | Chess

Admission to the trade show exhibit is free to collision repair professionals. The first preregistered person attending from each body shop or insurance claims office is also entitled to a free dinner, "and it ain't no 'rubber chicken' that we're serving," added Chess. "It's going to be a great meal to enjoy with your friends and co-workers." Each additional at-tendee from a shop or claims office is $50, and all proceeds in excess of the cost of the event will go to the I-CAR Foundation. Choices for dinner include beef, chicken or pasta. A registration form will be found at the end of this article. Please preregister today. Chess also announced that "I-CAR has designed a great wall plaque with your name and company's name if you choose to contribute additional funds to the Education Foundation. These plaques will be presented at the trade show." For further information, contact Toby Chess at 310-995-7909 or I-CAR South Pacific Regional Manager Lorene Lombardi at 800-422-7456.
