Page 2 of 2 SCRS leadership conference Fresh off of the success of last year’s inaugural session, the Society of Collision Repair Specialists (SCRS) will be holding the second annual Affiliate Leadership Conference, taking place at the I-CAR World Headquarters in Hoffman Estates, Illinois. The event is scheduled to run from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Thursday, September 13. The Affiliate Leadership Conference spotlights and addresses the needs of SCRS’ affiliate associations and their members. “Since its earliest days, SCRS has leveraged the grass roots strength of state associations and maintained a vested interest in their health and well-being,” said SCRS Executive Director Dan Risley. “The Affiliate Leadership Conference is a logical outgrowth of that philosophy and further solidifies SCRS’ standing as the foremost authority on unifying the industry through our 34 state affiliate associations.” The SCRS Board of Directors is intent upon identifying the most pressing insurer issues, and building a strategy to address them with the help of its affiliate associations. “There’s more activity at the state level than any time in recent history, and we want to support and complement their efforts,” stated Dorn. “Putting the expertise of our affiliates in one room benefits everyone. The volume of communication that takes place between executive directors, officers and membership is unprecedented. It helps us understand the scope of the issues and how to best serve our members, while ensuring the long term health of the collision repair industry.” “The affiliates are the voice of the industry,” explained SCRS Chairman Farzam Afshar. “We get a better sense of what’s impacting repairers so we can calibrate proposed actions and adjust strategies. Affiliates lead the way – they bring in the big picture and provide SCRS an opportunity to present a unified voice.”
