Pacific Auto Salvage celebrates Earth Day E-mail
Thursday, 01 June 2006

Willie Azevedo, vice president of Pacific Auto Salvage, Inc., an American Canyon, California automotive recycling facility, his wife Heather and their miniature schnauzer, Lucie, were willing and busy participants in the annual Earth Day celebration in Napa, California. Willie and Heather occupied the Pacific Auto Salvage stand and addressed questions about auto recycling while Lucie entertained any passers-by.

Armed with ARA (Automotive Recyclers Association) coloring books, industry data sheets, and freebies such as post-it pads, pens and posters, the Azevedo's greeted nearly 100 families.

"We passed out nearly all of the coloring books we ordered for the event from ARA, and they were a big hit," Willie said. "Parents picked up the industry data we supplied, telling them about how extensive auto recycling is and how automobiles are the most recycled product on the planet. We also told them how recycling saves on natural resources."

Founded in 1943, the Automotive Recyclers Association represents an industry dedicated to the efficient removal and reuse of automotive parts, and the proper disposal of inoperable motor vehicles and their hazardous fluids. With programs such as the Certified Auto Recycler program, and other partnerships with automotive manufacturers, automotive recycling will continue to provide consumers with quality, low cost alternatives for vehicle replacement parts, while preserving natural resources and our environment for tomorrow.
