Sottile will serve on the council for one year and will become the new chair of the council in the fall of 2008. She is a member of the 2006 class of Most Influential Women in the Collision Repair Industry.
“The collision repair industry offers an abundance of opportunities, and I’m pleased to be a part of an organization like CIAI that is dedicated to its growth and advancement,” said Sottile. “I’m looking forward to working with the individuals and organizations who will be awarded assistance for their programs and helping them to achieve their goals.”
Sottile’s career reflects her leadership in collision repair and public affairs, and she is passionate about helping others succeed. She offers college internships at her office and mentors young people who are developing their careers.
As Director of Government Relations for Keystone, Sottile directs all federal and state legislative and regulatory activity, lobbying, political contributions and grassroots efforts for the automotive aftermarket parts industry. She is also co-chair of the government affairs committee for the Automotive Body Parts Association. The ABPA is a national organization of aftermarket manufacturers and distributors.
Working to create a fair marketplace
As a representative for the aftermarket parts industry, Sottile travels all across North America. She is as comfortable in a parts warehouse in Atlanta as she is discussing legislation in Washington, D.C. Sottile believes in a pro-consumer environment that is fair to collision repair businesses, insurance companies and parts suppliers.
“Consumers deserve to have high quality, affordable parts available to them, and we’re working to educate the entire market about the benefits of aftermarket parts. It’s all about creating a marketplace for fair competition,” Sottile said.
In November of 2006, Sottile had the honor of being named one of the Most Influential Women in the Collision Repair Industry by Akzo Nobel. Akzo Nobel will announce the recipients of the Spring 2007 CIAI grants later this month.
