Keystone to raise funds for Camp Mak-A-Dream E-mail
Thursday, 01 September 2005

Keystone Automotive Industries, Inc. (Nasdaq:KEYS) has reaffirmed its commitment to the 2005 Collision Industry Foundation (CIF) fundraising campaign. In addition to donating $1,000 towards prizes, Keystone will assist in selling tickets for the 2005 "Hop on the Bus" Campaign, which will raise funds for the Collision Industry Foundation. Most of these funds will be earmarked to purchase a new bus for Camp Mak-A-Dream.

Keystone participated in a similar CIF project two years ago, raising almost $130,000 from ticket sales. These contributions, along with the contributions of countless others, helped to build a medical facility for Camp Mak-A-Dream.

Camp Mak-A-Dream is a medically supervised, cost-free camp for children and young adults with cancer - a cause that has been unofficially adopted by the collision repair industry. "The Keystone Team is proud of the collision industry's commitment to Camp Mak-A-Dream; we strongly believe in their mission and feel fortunate to be part of such a worthy project," stated President and CEO Richard Keister.

Record 2006 first quarter results

In financial news, Keystone reported record sales for its fiscal 2006 first quarter ended July 1, 2005. Net sales for the 13-week 2006 fiscal quarter reached a record $144.8 million compared with $141.1 million last year - an increase of 2.6 percent. After adjusting for an additional week in the same quarter a year earlier, the increase was 10.5 percent.

"Overall results for the quarter slightly exceeded our internal expectations. With the exception of lighting, we experienced strong sales momentum in our core product categories. Same store sales growth of 9.5 percent (after adjusting for the additional week in the prior-year period) is the strongest we have seen in several quarters and I believe validates our short-term strategy of having enough inventory available to service customers as we address our supply chain reengineering." said Keister.

"I am also pleased to report that our two largest headlight suppliers and CAPA, an independent certifying agency, have agreed on procedures to begin certification. We believe that light applications, although limited, will be available during the second half of this year."
