Chip Foose joins the teamIn other BASF news, the company has signed a multi-year agreement with Chip Foose, well-known automotive and product designer, to promote its waterborne automotive refinishes and to develop a new line of automotive refinish colors under the Foose name. No stranger to BASF automotive refinish paint, Chip Foose grew up watching his dad spray BASF’s R-M paint. “I knew about the brand from watching my dad refinish cars while I was growing up. He used R-M,” said Foose. Currently, Foose owns Foose Design, a company that specializes in illustration, graphics, ideation model making, surfacing and complete construction of automobiles and automotive related products. “When I was creating my business, I was careful to select the “best of the best,” in people and in products, and that included paint,“ said Foose. “I talked to the people who know paint best—the painters and the detailers. And every one of them gave me the same recommendation for paint: BASF. “Once I started spraying BASF’s brands R-M and Glasurit, I understood immediately what the detailers were talking about. For years, these BASF paints have helped take my projects to the Ridler Awards, to the Specialty Equipment Manufacturers Association show (SEMA), to the cover of magazines and to TV with Overhaulin’.“ BASF shares Foose’s desire for the best people and products, which is why the company is so excited to have an official partnership in paint with Foose. “Chip Foose has long been a friend of BASF and a fan of our automotive refinish paints,” said Darlene Eilenberger, Director of Marketing for BASF Coatings in North America. “We are very excited about taking our relationship with Chip to a new level as we work with him to create a new line of custom colors.” |
