On October 20, 2007, collision industry member Brandon Eckenrode will compete in Men’s Health Magazine’s Urbanathlon in Chicago to support the I-CAR Education Foundation $100 per Collision Repair Facility per Year campaign.
For all contributions made through the $100 per Collision Repair Facility per Year campaign, 85% go back to the career and technical schools and colleges in the regions or country where the funds originated. Ron Ray, executive director of the I-CAR Education Foundation said, “Many of the schools with a collision repair and refinishing training program operate with limited budgets. Through this outstanding effort by Mr. Eckenrode, we look forward to participation from individuals and business owners to support their local schools with tax-deductible donations. We are proud of volunteers like Mr. Eckenrode, and believe that together, we can make a difference.” “As you will see on the event’s web site, this race is beyond any triathlon or marathon I have competed in before,” stated Eckenrode, I-CAR senior marketing communications specialist. “The schools, instructors, and students are the future of our industry and there is no better time than the present to show them that they are involved with an industry that is supportive of their success and professional growth. Help make my physical pain during the event, their gain and pledge $100 for your local school!” To pledge $100 towards Eckenrode’s Urbanathlon efforts, e-mail your pledge and contact information to I-CAR Education Foundation Products and Services Specialist Stacy Zarr at
