CCAR S/P2 adds 18 auto training programs in May E-mail
Saturday, 01 July 2006

The Coordinating Committee For Automotive Repair (CCAR) registered 18 schools in May to utilize CCAR's S/P2 online training in Safety and Pollution Prevention in their automotive training programs.

The new schools include H.G. Spruce High School, Dallas, Texas and Waco High School, Waco, Texas.

CCAR has offered S/P2 free of charge to automotive training programs since its introduction in 2003, and there are now more than 2,500 schools across the U.S. enrolled in S/P2, representing a student population of over 200,000.

S/P2 was developed by CCAR in keeping with U.S. EPA and OSHA standards, which require shop personnel and students to be trained at least annually on safety and environmental matters. The S/P2 courseware tracks student progress through the training, grades tests and is updated as changes occur in federal and state laws.

CCAR, a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization, also operates "CCAR- GreenLink®," the National Environmental Compliance Assistance Center for Auto- motive Repair, in cooperation with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).

For complete information, including the business version of S/P2 that is available on a subscription basis, visit www.sp2.org or call toll-free at 1-888-772-3535.
