From the early days circa 1955, Original Capital offered quality recycled and used automobile parts from engines and transmissions to doors, fenders, and moldings – any part that could be salvaged from a wrecked vehicle and resold. The late seventies and early eighties saw many changes in automobile technology. With car manufacturers offering more product lines, smaller cars, and front-wheel-drive vehicles, Capital began focusing on wheels along with recycling auto parts. As more vehicle models became available, the opportunity arose to offer a wider variety of wheels and wheel options. At this time, Capital Wheel divisions grew with the industry by offering quality wheels – new, take offs (almost new), and used wheels. The new millennium has brought about even more changes in the automotive industry. Demands for low-cost replacements have led to importing and manufacturing of replicas and replacement wheels. Currently, Capital offers repair, refinishing and remanufacturing of all types of wheels, further saving customers valuable time and money. Capital takes damaged wheels and puts them through a multi-stage process of reconditioning which is performed in house. Giving back to the industry On August 23, Capital Auto Wrecking and Wheels will host the Auto Dismantler’s Association of Southern California (ADASC) trade show, yard tour and barbecue at its facility in Gardena, California from 5:30-9 p.m. Vendor space is available for $125 and includes two dinners from Chris & Pitts Bar-B-Que between 6:30 and 8. Lots of door prizes will be given away. Tickets for additional dinners are $20. ADASC is requesting that participants offer an Open House special. Vendors are encouraged to bring door prizes to give away in drawings throughout the evening.
