He recently expanded the No Spin Zone to include a national radio show, "The Radio Factor" and also contributes to Fox News Channel's newsmagazine "The Pulse." His two non-fiction books, "The O'Reilly Factor"and "The No Spin Zone," have reached No. 1 on The New York Times best seller list. His novel, "Those Who Trespass," has been optioned for the screen by Mel Gibson's Icon Productions. O'Reilly also authors a weekly syndicated column that is carried in approximately 200 newspapers across the country.
O'Reilly graduated from Marist College in Poughkeepsie, N.Y., with a degree in History and received a Master's Degree in Broadcast Journalism from Boston University. His television news career began in Scranton, Pennsylvania, and included news stops in Dallas, Denver, Portland, Oregon, Hartford and Boston.
CBS correspondent
In 1980, O'Reilly anchored his own program on WCBS-TV in New York and from there became a CBS News correspondent covering the wars in El Salvador and the Falkland Islands among other assignments.
In 1986, he joined ABC News as a correspondent and appeared on "The World News Tonight" more than 100 times during his three-year tenure. Along the way, O'Reilly received two Emmy Awards and two National Headliner Awards for excellence in reporting.
In 1989, he joined the nationally syndicated "Inside Edition" as senior correspondent and backup anchor behind David Frost. He later replaced Frost as anchor. In 1995, O'Reilly enrolled in the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University where he received a Master's Degree in Public Policy. After leaving Harvard, he was hired by Fox News Channel to do "The O'Reilly Factor."
