Lisa Kolbusz, of Northeast Wisconsin Technical College, Oneida, Wisconsin, is the winner of the grand prize in the BASF's Automotive Refinish Solutions Career and Technical Education (CATE) sweepstakes.
Kolbusz's name was drawn from hundreds of entries received from CATE students in the United States, Canada and Puerto Rico. The sweepstakes was designed to promote BASF's training portal on its BASFrefinish.com website. The grand prize is a custom-painted BASF toolbox with a wide array of refinishing tools and supplies, including the innovative Glasurit Small Damage Repair System. The retail value of the toolbox is approximately $7,700. The winner's entire refinish class benefits, as well. A team of BASF trainers will visit the class to demonstrate valuable tips and tricks of custom painting. "BASF has been committed to helping the collision repair industry develop and nurture the next generation of specialists," said William Jay Johnston, manager, Training and Development for BASF's Automotive Refinish business in North America. "Innovative programs like the sweepstakes are part of our strategy to attract qualified people and encourage them to pursue a rewarding career in this dynamic and highly technical industry." As part of its continuing focus on career and technical education, said Johnston, BASF will introduce a new online training program in the second quarter of 2006. The new program, which will complement BASF's existing training programs, will enable students throughout North America to build skills and knowledge in a wide range of collision- repair subjects, including painting. The training site will also feature tips on repair procedures and will allow users to sign up for e-mail newsletters. |
